Generation Why Not Class

Mrs. Cheryl is starting a new Sunday School Class for older youth 18-30 years old.

We will meet at 9:45am in the classroom first on the left as you go upstairs! We will start with EPIC! When the world says Why? The Lord says WHY NOT!

Singles Ages 35-55

We are meeting in Room 4 (first door on the right at the top of the stairs).  It is going to be a time of fellowship as we study a new series: Companions in Christ.  This is an exciting new ministry at Hickory Church for single adults (divorced, single parents, or never married) and we are excited to have you be a part of it!

The Welcome Class - (Longing for God)

There is so much information about Jesus and the early church that it is difficult to decide what to believe.  As a “lover of God (Theophilus),” I wish I could just get the straight story.  Fortunately the medical doctor Luke, set out to provide that story to us.  He said, “I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, I too decided to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught.” (Luke 1:3-4 NIV)

We are a group of adults currently studying the series Luke-Acts, by reading every verse and discussing what God’s word says to each of us. This allows for a personal understanding of the scriptures that we study. Each class member participates as God leads him or her; or one can simply sit listening to God’s word.  We meet upstairs in the second to the last room on the left at 10 a.m. Sunday mornings.  If you are interested in learning what God's words of encouragement says to you through this book, please come and let us welcome you.  For more information or any questions, please contact Stan Best at mailto:stanbest@cox.net or phone number 546-1818.

This perceptive and vibrant class of mature adults is not only a place to receive sound Biblical instruction, it is a place where the genuine love of family is experienced.

The accumulated wisdom of our couples, singles, grand-parents, and great-grand-parents exceeds 1500 years, providing a richness of dimension perfectly complementing the Adult Bible Studies curriculum from Cokesbury.

Joyful Noise class members have numerous gifts which are freely shared with others as eager participants in church ministry.  Our prayers of intercession, words of wisdom and encouragement, preaching & teaching talents, greeting card ministry, donations to charity, visits to shut-ins, vegetable gardens, carpentry skills, cooking & baking,  as well as our loving and patient nurture, continue to bless many lives.

We DO make a JOYFUL NOISE, but not just at our Christmas parties, outings, and frequent picnics.  Every Sunday peals of laughter echo down the hall as we study, fellowship, and celebrate God's love.  Come rejoice with us!

Pairs and Spares

We have various ages in our class-couples and those of us who come without our spouses.  We are studying Exodus at the present time.
