CAST

CAST, Chesapeake Area Shelter Team, provides an Emergency Winter Shelter Program for the Homeless. Partner churches host one week at a time of overnight winter shelter. HUMC provides our church as a shelter for families one week of each year. 

HUMC will host CAST Wednesday, Jan 2, 2019, 8:30 PM -  Wednesday, Jan 9 2019, 9:30 AM

NEST

Norfolk Emergency Shelter Team Norfolk Emergency Shelter Team (NEST) provides meals and shelter to homeless single adults during the winter months. NEST is a coalition of churches that provides overnight shelter on a rotating basis. HUMC provides our church as a shelter for one week of each year.

HUMC will host NEST March 20 - 27, 2019.  

Volunteers are needed each year for overnight shifts, food preparation, cleaning and more. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Donna Mishler at (757) 469-0632
